i finally finished Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody.
the book is a real life account about an American wife and her five year old daughter who were held hostage in Iran by the woman's Iranian husband.
sad eh. to be tortured and beaten up. and miserable in hell and the cause of it was supposed to be the love of your life.
just sad.
today, i went down to sch. cos some councillors were supposed to help out with talentime.
me and joanna happily volunteered for the persons-who-will-play -the-background-music -for-the-performers job.
thinking that we could be shaking our legs through out the run-through.
clearly, we were wrong.
most of the CDs look the same. almost all had different tracks. example.
person 1- track 7 person 2- track 1 person 3- track 4 ..
and so on.
some CDs couldnt be played on the computer, so we had to use a discman.
at one point in time, discman batt low. MAN DID WE PANIC.
so, everything was a disaster. to put it simply. joanna and i, not AVA people.
luckily, we're only covering for the AVA till the actual talentime day itself.
every single performance. we cock up the sound system. either. song too loud/ cannot hear at all/ started in the middle/ took 200 years to start.
i almost got a heart attack. when i found out, we had to do this duty on the actual day too.
where the either school population can hear the sound cock-ups. and rush backstage to pelt me with tomatoes.
damn. lucky, talentime is a good number of days away.
talentime can be an eye-opener. i didnt know faizah could sing. i didnt know azrin played the guitar that well. i didnt know sadiq was the 'serious one' in his band. i didnt know filzah's group would be that impressive and innovative.
eye openers.
well. i had to rush home, in order to get to my cousin's place to do some spring cleaning my aunty and her son would come back from Qatar and remain permanently in singapore.
many of my cousins were there. soooo. we wiped a few windows, washed a few floors, and rushed down to the playground.
WAHA. lame sak. but we had a good time playing catching. such an old school game.
suddenly, it was six thirty. and we had to go home too soon. mannn.
we must do swensens again sometime. that was damn fun.
i am extremely reluctant to start school again. cos i know, things are just going to get worse-er and harder.
and damn it, more homework. and self-study after school. and no life.
ARGH. can we please get this over and done with soon.
mmm wadyou say?
that you only meant well
of course you did of course it is -imogen (:
